Auchrannie Resort has been named the winner of this year’s Herald 'Commitment to the Community’ award at a lavish ceremony celebrating the best family run businesses in Scotland.
Now in its second year, the Herald Family Business Awards recognise the very best in Scottish business, the length and breadth of the country and across all industries.
The Johnston family were represented at the ceremony by estate manager David Johnston who was accompanied by general manager Richard Small.
Auchrannie’s involvement with a wide range of island charities, volunteer organisations and its close ties with other island businesses were all factors that resulted in winning this prestigious award.
David Johnston, Estate Manger speaking after collecting the award said “This award is very special to the entire team and as a business we are all very proud of how much we are able to supports others through the success of Auchrannie”.
News of this latest accolade rounds off another award winning year for Auchrannie which has seen them named by TripAdvisor as the number one family hotel in the UK (25th best in the world). DRAM magazine also crowned Auchrannie as its 2013 “Independent hotel of the year” whilst Visit Scotland named them the best hotel in South West Scotland at the Thistle Awards.
