The Isle of Arran is a great place for horse-riding , available for all ages and abilities from total novice to the experienced rider.
The island currently has two riding stables; Cairnhouse Riding Stables and North Sannox Pony Trekking. Both riding stables give you a great opportunity to see the island on four feet admiring the scenery as you go!
North Sannox is roughly a 20 minute drive from Brodick, on the east side of the island. The working hill farm offers pony trekking over scenic farmlands, tracks and beaches. These treks can run for between 3 and 5 hours. For the younger parties (ages 3-5 years) they offer paddock rides! A great opportunity for your wee one to give it a try! North Sannox Pony Trekking is open Monday to Saturday s a week all year round- weather permitting of cource! Try this great experience it’s one that should not be missed!
Cairnhouse Riding Centre is located in Blackwaterfoot, on the west side of the island; a 20 minute drive from Brodick across the string road. The stables are open all year and for ages 5 years and over. Offering Hacking & Trekking for novices to experienced riders over carefully chosen routes across private farm tracks, hills, and sandy beaches. Great for all the family!
Look out for the leaflets around our resort or ask at reception for more information you might even find someone with a little horsey knowledge at one of our reception desks!
