The team at Auchrannie Resort were celebrating this week with news that the resort had won a regional “Scottish Thistle Award” and were on their way to the national finals later on this year.
The Scottish Thistle Awards, Scotland’s flagship tourist awards, are designed to discover and celebrate excellence and innovation within the Scottish tourism industry.
Auchrannie were winners for Scotland South West Central region in the “Hotel of the Year” category, one of just 13 categories being contested.
Judges were looking for a hotel that demonstrated exemplary levels of customer service and satisfaction. With a clear strategy and proven track record of customer care.
Commenting on the news, executive director Linda Johnston said “This awards is fantastic recognition for the hard work that the entire team have put in over the last 25 years. We are very excited about progressing to the national final and competing against the very best from the other regions of Scotland.”
Richard Small, General Manager added “Only businesses at the very top of their game make it as far as the national finals so we are ecstatic to have won the regional heats and once again demonstrate that Auchrannie is able to compete amongst the highest levels within Scottish tourism.”
Auchrannie are no strangers to the Thistle Awards, having previously won the ‘Scotland Year Round’ award in 2004 and ‘Tourism Entrepreneur Award’ in 2012.
This year’s national final will take place in November and Auchrannie will be up against the other regional winners from the Central Scotland East, Highlands and the North East & Tayside.
