Auchrannie Resort to introduce new dining concept

Auchrannie Resort has this week revealed exciting plans to bring a new “Scottish Tapas” styled restaurant to Arran.

‘eighteen69’ the resort’s fine dining restaurant will close at the end of October to make way for the new concept which will open in early 2014.

The new restaurant will be very much focused on creating a relaxed dining experience where couples, families and groups can share great food.  The concept will allow diners to try a greater range of dishes and inspiration for the menu will be drawn from the Scottish larder.

Diners will be able to enjoy the likes of cullen skink scotched duck egg,  platters of Peelham farm Scottish charcuterie & open lasagne of sweet butter lobster & crab. Chef’s will be using freshly prepared, locally sourced produce and the dining experience will extend into the lounges as well as the main restaurant.

The drinks offering will also be updated to reflect the new dining experience with more focus on sparkling wines, champagnes and speciality cocktails designed to complement the flavours of the dishes being served.

The kitchen will continue to be headed up by Craig Beedie (Scottish Hotel Awards, Executive Chef of the Year 2013) and supported by his team.

Speaking about the news, Richard Small, General Manager of Auchrannie says “We are always looking to evolve the product offering here at Auchrannie and we are confident that this new style of dining will appeal to both locals and our guests.”

Linda Johnston, Executive Director of Auchrannie added “Whilst ‘eighteen69’ and its predecessor ‘The Garden Restaurant’ have worked well over the last 25 years, we feel now is the right time to introduce a fresh style of dining to Auchrannie. Customer feedback indicates a desire for a more relaxed and affordable approach to dining and we believe this is exactly what our new concept will offer.”

‘eighteen 69’ will continue to operate until the end of October and then  some minor refurbishment work will then take place to update the style and feel of the existing space.  An opening date for the new restaurant will be revealed in mid-October.

The resort’s other two restaurants, ‘Brambles Seafood + Grill’ and ‘Cruize Bar Brasserie’ will be unaffected by the changes.
